Islam and Free Decision Christianity and Church

An aspect of the superiority of Islam over Christianity is the religious guidance or dicates. Islam teaches reliance as Christianity teaches dictates.
In nut shell Islam teaches individual responsibility of how to study religion "Dean" and come to conclusions and decisions. In Christianity the church accomplishes that and their followers abide by it. So such authority dictates to them many things and the most glaring of them has to do with marriage and divorce and narrow interpretations.
In Islam you are responsible for what you believe and what you do and not the Islamic scholars or Mosques preachers, Khateeb or Imam.
If some of the Islamic scholars or leaders issue an opinion or some cases to the level of, fatwa, their is no obligation of Muslims to follow it or believe in it.
So to make the point concise, Islam teaches the individual responsibility in contrast to be just follower of a Muslim scholar.
In the narrow practice of Islam one can depend on opinions of Muslim scholars if you realy respect them and trust them but the final responsibility lie on the person.
In our lives the Muslim scholars fell the under undue influence of institutions, states and the rulers and as such they became unreliable in many situations.
Worst when their verdicts has to do with politics at the home scene or the international affairs then they can reach the level of total contempt.
Soome example a religious leader who had a fatwa that supports some government certain referendom and the religious duty to participate. This is totally untrue and totally political issue and has nothing to do whether you are good Muslim or not specially if the government is dictatorial for example.
So the conclusion again Islam teaches self-freliance in following the true and proper conduct in life.
